Recreation Activities at Founders Pavilion

The Recreation Department at Founders Pavilion provides an ongoing program of Activities throughout the day and evening to reflect each person’s interest and lifestyle.  Our goal is to enhance each resident’s quality of life by promoting self esteem through creativity and independence.  Planned Activities include individual, group, and independent programs for all residents seven days a week, 365 days a year.  Founders Pavilion prides itself on servicing diverse populations at many stages of cognitive or physical impairments.  It is imperative to us to promote the highest level of functioning for your loved one.  We provide seasonal and family parties and encourage all to come!

  • Niagara Casino
  • All Great Lakes for Picnics
  • Crystal City Cinemas
  • Curtiss Flying Museum
  • Olive Garden, Chilis, En En’s

Group Programming Includes:

  • Bingo
  • Physical and Mental Games (Golf, Baseball, Bowling, Brainteasers, Volleyball, Horseracing)
  • Trivia
  • Tae bo (wheelchair exercising), Yoga (in wheelchair),
  • Socials (Seasonal and family parties, coffee hour)
  • Fashion Shows  (Keeping up to date on fashions, 40 residents participate in a quarterly fashion show with clothes donated from Kmart)
  • Men’s Club (Fishing, NASCAR races, western’s)
  • Stampin’ Up and Scrapbook Club (Arts and Crafts)
  • Variety of denominational church services
  • Intergenerational Programs (Anyone interested in contacting Activities to bring in groups please click here)
  • Musical Entertainment (Sam Pallet Band, Harpist, Sugar n Spice, Barbershop Quartet, ACE Quartet).
  • Resident Council (A representative of population of Founders Residents meet monthly to discuss concerns and voice their opinion about the care they receive).

Individual Programming Includes:

  • Pet Therapy (Anyone interested in bringing in their pet, please click here).
  • Aromatherarpy  (Promotes relaxation, natural way to cope with pain, depression, and stress)
  • Sensory Stimulation (Stimulating sense of touch, vision, hearing, smell, or taste).
  • Reminiscence Therapy (Discussion of past events and experiences, exchanging memories)
  • Volunteer Discussions (Volunteers come in to read, provide healthy stimulation by promoting conversations). There are a variety of services that volunteers offer, if you are interested in volunteering, please click here).

Independent Programming Includes:

  • Encouraging resident to pursue independent activities as if they were home:  reading, writing, building, word finds/crosswords, watching television, walking, knitting/crocheting.  (Working with the family to ensure that activities that the resident previously enjoyed they continue during stay)

Family/Community Involvement:

  • Founders Pavilion provides in services for staff and families to learn more about specific diseases or aliments that effects the elderly population.  (Alzheimer’s and Hospice)
  • Family Meeting Council (Meets monthly to discuss concerns and express ideas) Please contact Social Work at 607-654-2409.
  • Each year Founders Pavilion participates in Colonial Days Parade, Pop Can Fun Run, and the Parade of Lights
